About this event

The trail is approx 6.4 miles long (out & back). We travel at a moderate pace.

The Possum trail scenic tour of Logtown, MS, referred to as a ghost town, that was cleared in the 60s for the Stennis Space Center acoustic buffer zone.

The trailhead is easy to miss since its on an unmarked dirt road. Set your GPS for Logtown MS Cemetery; the trail head is about 300 yards past the cemetery on the right before it dead ends into the Pearl River. If you're driving I10 take the Stennis Space Center exist, a right on 607 heading towards BSL and a right on 604. The town still has some remnants of civilization: a cemetery, a bridge crossing the Pearl, rail road track an old well, the foundations of old buildings and a pier. https://www.hancockcountyhistoricalsociety.com/reference/cemetery.htm?cemetery=LOG
