About this event
Irma: My Life in Music features Irma Thomas out of the limelight, as archival photographs, film segments, and interviews collectively share the life story of Irma Thomas. Finding success singing at the restaurant where she waitressed, Irma Thomas was only 18 years-old when she made her mark on the U.S. Billboard R&B charts with her single "Don't Mess with My Man." In this documentary, Thomas tells her own life story. Influential figures in Thomas's life including Scott Billington, Ken Ehrlich, Ledisi, and Bonnie Raitt speak on the moments they've shared with Irma, challenges they've overcome together, and what collaborations to come may look like.
