About this event

Celebrate the Future of New Orleans Music

An Evening of Live Music & Giving

Join Second Line Arts Collective on Saturday, November 7, for a night of live music in support of the next generation of New Orleans musicians. James Jordan and The Situation and Dimitri Hanafin Reyes will perform at the Andre Cailloux Center, and every ticket helps fund our music education programs.

FEATURING SECOND LINE ARTS COLLECTIVE ALUMNI

This year's performers came up through our own programs. Both are alumni of Second Line Arts Collective, and both released debut albums this year, which is exactly the future this evening celebrates.

James Jordan and The Situation

James Jordan is a New Orleans-based vocalist with a range of more than four octaves, at home across genres and often compared to Al Jarreau, D'Angelo, and Nancy Wilson. A Tulane University graduate who studied under Leah Chase, Jesse McBride, Ashlin Parker, and Dr. Courtney Bryan, he has performed several times at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, most recently leading his own band in the WWOZ Jazz Tent in 2026. His debut album with The Situation, Reflections, was released in January 2026.

Dimitri Hanafin Reyes

Born and raised in the Bay Area, pianist Dimitri Hanafin Reyes moved to New Orleans and earned dual degrees from Tulane University in Black American Music and Legal Studies in Business. He has performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, and JazzAscona in Switzerland, and has traveled to Cuba twice to study its music and rhythm. His debut album, The Shape Of Return, on Ropeadope, gathers compositions written from his teenage years to the present.
