About this event

Come celebrate Brazilian rhythm and dance in this class with Ja’nese Brooks-Galathe. Learn dances that draw from the strong African influence, rhythms and dance traditions of Bahia and Northeast Brazil, a region known for customs deeply rooted in the traditions and spirituality of ancestral Africa. This high energy class demonstrates power and grace fused together, bringing a rich cultural context. This class focuses on folkloric and Orixa-inspired dance, Samba Afro, and samba reggae, as well as other Brazilian dance styles. Ja’nese welcome students of all levels and backgrounds – everyone will find challenge and inspiration in her dancing and teaching!
