About this event
Volunteer with lowernine.org for their community home rebuild days! Since 2005, after Hurricane Katrina and the levee breaches, this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization has been rebuilding and repairing homes for legacy (pre-Katrina) residents, by way of skilled crew leaders and volunteers looking to learn and help!
The first Saturday of every month are local community rebuild days! lowernine.org invites people to come build a sense of community, while actually rebuilding a neighbor's home. The day begins at 8am at the headquarters on Jourdan Ave, then disperse to worksite no more than a 6 minute drive away. Volunteers will learn skills ranging from installing sheetrock and flooring, to framing and roofing. Volunteers are given a one hour lunch break, and the day wraps up at 4:30.
Registration is required. Email volunteer@lowernine.org
