About this event
Born from the creativity and resilience of Trinidadians who adapted everyday materials to create percussion instruments when traditional African drums were banned, the steelpan has evolved into the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago. Today, its vibrant rhythms are essential to Caribbean carnival celebrations, street parades, and parties. Join us at the New Orleans Jazz Museum for a special showcase celebrating the artistry and cultural heritage of steelpan music!
