  • The Times-Picayune is accepting nominations for its 2025 Loving Cup award (which recognizes local community service) until Feb. 14; submissions must include a brief description of the nominee’s civic contributions and can be sent via email or mail to the committee’s address on St. Charles Ave.  NOLA.com

  • Delta Utilities launched DU Cares (a customer assistance program) to help those struggling with gas bills. The initiative offers up to $250 one time and, in its first week, received over 300 applications, with funding capped at $200K and paused once funds are allocated.  WWL-TV

  • The Sophie B. Wright Charter School marching band is set to join the Krewe of Pygmalion parade today in New Orleans, where WWL’s Whitney Miller discusses parade details & throws.  WWL-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • New data from December's National Survey for Children's Health shows only 59% of Louisiana parents reported their children ready for kindergarten (7 points below the national average), highlighting income disparities that affect early education.  NOLA.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The RTA will adjust transit service during Mardi Gras by suspending Canal Street and St. Charles streetcars on Feb. 12 and the Rampart line on Feb. 14, with bus detours starting two hours before parades and expanded ferry service on parade days — normal service will resume on Feb. 18.  WWL-TV
