  • Jefferson Parish held a Mardi Gras parade on Monday and is hosting another today before Carnival — the Krewe of Music and the Krewe of Symphony plan spectacular visuals that officials say may turn early-week festivities into a new Mardi Gras tradition.  WWL-TV
  • The Louisiana State Museum will debut an exhibit highlighting Louisiana’s role in the American Revolution on March 8 at the Cabildo in Jackson Square; it features artifacts, documents, and research on Gov.   • Louisiana energy and manufacturing leaders will gather today at the UL Lafayette LEED Center to attend the Energy and Manufacturing Collider from 1:00 p.m. — 5:00 p.m. The half-day event will connect university-developed technologies with commercial and defense markets, featuring a live pitch competition starting at 4:00 p.m.  Biz New Orleans
  • In 2025, St. Bernard Port handled 6.6M tons of cargo and completed a $38 million rebuild of Chalmette Slip, supporting 2,267 jobs and $183.2M in local output.   • The 78th Annual Scientific Conference of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences is underway at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from Feb. 9 to Feb. 14.   • Delgado Community College reported strong growth in 2025 with enrollment rising, graduations topping 6,000 and over $10 million in external funding boosting training.
