- ➤ Funeral plans have been announced for Dorothy Prevost, mother of one of the New Orleans Four. Her body will lie in state in Gallier Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 13, with a March 14 service at New Hope Baptist Church + burial at Rising Star Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. NOLA.com

- ➤ The Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band and two HBCU bands will honor Michael Jackson during Black History Month by performing Dont Stop Till You Get Enough ahead of the movie Michael releasing on April 24 + the show is available on official social media pages. WRNO

- ➤ Delta Utilities took over Entergy’s gas operations in July, and many residents saw their bills jump from about $80 to over $300 because of high prices and cold weather (a Broadmoor resident said she struggled to pay). - ➤ Mother of a Holy Cross student said her son was called a racial slur in chemistry and given a one-day suspension that left him facing ongoing bullying, and she now urges the school to take stronger action while administrators said the incident was handled per policy. WWL-TV
- ➤ The Jefferson Parish School Board voted in February to seek bids for oil drilling rights on a 640-acre school-owned plot in Lafitte (aimed at boosting funds amid declining enrollment) and now awaits Plaquemines’ board approval before proceeding with the bidding process. NOLA.com

- ➤ Louis Armstrong International Airport will close Runway 2/20 for an eight-month, $27.1 million reconstruction starting Monday, Mar. 2.
