COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Dorothy Prevost, the last living parent of the New Orleans Four who helped end segregation in 1960, died at 94. A flag-draped casket will be honored with a motorcade & public viewing Friday at Gallier Hall, then a funeral Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church.  WDSU

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Krewe du Pooch held its annual post-Mardi Gras parade on Feb. 28 at Mandeville Lakefront with costumed pups and people delighting visitors + adding charm to local carnival traditions.  NOLA.com

  • Today is warm and sunny with highs in the mid to upper 70s and lows in the low 50s. Dense fog is expected Monday morning on the Northshore and south Mississippi — Tuesday will bring widespread fog, showers, thunderstorms and breezy highs near 80 forecast for later this week.  WDSU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport will close Runway 2/20 today for about 8 months for a $27M rehabilitation project that rebuilds runway panels & upgrades lighting. All flights will use the east-west runway while construction finishes in December.  Biz New Orleans

  • Saks Fifth Avenue plans to close its Canal Place store after decades as a key tenant (the mall remains 90% leased) with the store expected to remain open through the end of April in New Orleans.  NOLA.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Los Angeles Clippers ended a three-game losing streak by beating the Pelicans 137-117 on Sunday night. Kawhi Leonard scored 23 points as the Clippers led the game from the start and built a 26-point margin in the fourth.  Fox 8
