  • Audubon Nature Institute is set to open Goldring Woldenberg Riverfront Park next month at Gov. Nicholls Street Wharf, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony (April 7) and a public opening on April 16.   • Louisiana Landmarks Society selected 19 New Orleans projects for its Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Louis Armstrong International Airport has unveiled a master plan to add a second terminal and 10 to 15 new gates along with roadway and parking upgrades to meet growing passenger demand. EDUCATION NEWS

  • A bill by Sen. Patrick McMath to extend high-dosage tutoring through eighth grade cleared the Education Committee this week. The program currently helps 178,000 students and the expansion would cost an extra $15.2 million yearly, building on recent academic gains.  New Orleans City Business

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority board approved the fiscal plan for 2027—a $1.54B investment covering 143 coastal projects to restore wetlands, shorelines and reduce flood risks. The plan will move to the legislature during the next Regular Session.  Biz New Orleans

  • City officials and developers broke ground on Esplanade Delille Apartments on Esplanade Ave; the 50-unit mixed-income project will offer 37 affordable and 13 market-rate apartments plus retail space to support local businesses.
