- ➤ A fire (caused by an electrical malfunction) displaced 30 guests Saturday evening at a Super 8 Motel on Chef Menteur Highway while firefighters contained the blaze in one room and the American Red Cross helped those affected. WWL-TV

- ➤ St. Louis Cathedral is preparing for a restoration as it continues to serve as a historic landmark in Jackson Square. The church has been a community fixture since 1718 + hosted a notable papal visit in 1987. NOLA.com
