- ➤ A Nicholls-based student pitched a plan using algae and oyster shells to produce biodiesel at a national conference, presenting research with the potential to boost local renewable energy efforts. Fox 8

- ➤ New Orleans residents can request a recycling bin through 311 but only 42% opt in since the city canceled plans for tens of thousands of new bins due to budget concerns. - ➤ Crews are repairing a 12-inch water line on West Esplanade Avenue in Jefferson Parish today. The left and center eastbound lanes — between North Arnoult Road and Severn Avenue — are closed while officials ensure water service remains unaffected and advise drivers to avoid the area. WWL-TV
