  • Uptown neighbors rallied Monday against a proposal from RCR Claiborne Venture III LLC and Tulane University to demolish Ted’s Frostop diner on Calhoun Street. The Historic District Landmarks Commission will review the plan Wednesday (April 8) at City Hall starting at 1 p.m.  Fox 8
  • City officials will clear the homeless encampment at the End of the World along the Industrial Canal as a $300 million redevelopment of the old navy base progresses—residents await relocation into subsidized housing.  NOLA.com

  • Two outside groups aired ads attacking state Treasurer John Fleming ahead of the May 16 primary by alleging he favors illegal immigration and carbon capture sequestration, though Fleming (referring to original footage) called the claims false and misleading.  NOLA.com

  • Manning Family Children’s earned Gold Level Cribs for Kids certification, meeting strict safe sleep standards and enhancing newborn care (a key effort to reduce infant mortality) in New Orleans.  Biz New Orleans
  • Loranger residents in parts of Hwy 1054 S, including Saragusa, Clement, Alexander, Toney, Golf Course and Populis roads, are under a boil water advisory after storms caused a water main break in the Eastern Heights Water System — the advisory will end after water is tested by Tangipahoa Water District.  WDSU
