  • A large-scale koi fish street art project is underway at North Rampart + Elysian Fields in the Marigny to highlight neighborhood diversity.  WWL-TV
  • Over the weekend, New Orleans hosted its first rodeo at Caesar's Superdome featuring bull riding, barrel racing & musical acts including Creed. The three-day Hondo Rodeo will return in 2027 and is planned to extend its events to Tampa next year.  WDSU

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Jefferson Parish officials say no local pay raise is planned for teachers in 2026 due to budget constraints, though educators may get a modest increase if a statewide constitutional amendment vote on May 16 passes (which would provide a $2,000 raise for teachers and a $1,000 increase for support staff).  NOLA.com
