ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 91-year-old woman died in a three-vehicle crash on East Judge Perez Highway in St Bernard Parish when her 2016 Nissan Versa hit a 2019 Nissan Versa and then struck a stationary Ford F-350—she was not wearing a seat belt—and toxicology tests were collected as investigators continue to review the cause. - ➤ Jazz Fest 2025 ended at the Fairgrounds with thousands enjoying food, culture and music over the last two weekends—marking a memorable finish for the annual event. WWL-TV
- ➤ A New Orleans nightclub said on Saturday night that during Friday’s Waka Flocka show, a local artist wore a swastika shirt—an image linked to hate and violence—with no clear intent given. The club said the symbol does not belong in its venue and has updated its rules to help prevent similar incidents. WDSU
- ➤ Ohm Lounge condemned a performer for wearing a shirt with a Nazi swastika during a Friday night Waka Flocka Flame show and said hate symbols have no place at the club—where the incident has prompted plans to update staff training and performer guidelines. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ An 82-year-old oil well near Garden Island Bay in Plaquemines Parish spewed oil, gas and water into marshlands starting May 1 and nearly three miles of containment boom were deployed to protect the area—federal officials took over the cleanup and plan to use a crane with a capping stack to stop the flow. The Coast Guard accessed emergency funds from the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund to support the response amid ongoing environmental risks. NOLA.com

- ➤ New Orleans City Council members are set to consider an ordinance that protects sex workers who report crimes from arrest—supporters say the change will help victims of crime and promote public health.
