- ➤ Residents in Holy Cross and the Lower Ninth Ward are opposing a plan to revamp the Alabo Street Wharf for an industrial train project, saying it will harm public transit and local safety. - ➤ New Orleans police reported that on Saturday a collision on I-10 over the Industrial Canal killed one person before 12:30 a.m.—and less than two hours later a pedestrian struck on the Crescent City Connection died, with investigations underway. WWL-TV

- ➤ Travis Umfrey, 44, fled a traffic stop in Metairie early Saturday, May 10, and led deputies on a multi-agency chase that stretched to Interstate 55 near Ponchatoula where, after officers deployed a spike strip and fired a shot while he resisted arrest and tried to grab a knife—he was eventually wrestled to the ground and booked on multiple charges.
