  • On Sunday evening in Kenner, more than 9,000 Entergy customers lost power and restoration was expected by 8 p.m. while the cause remained under investigation.  WDSU
  • A memorial plaque was unveiled Sunday morning outside the Pan Am Stadium to honor 22 victims of the 1999 Mother’s Day bus crash (which occurred on Interstate 610). Families, first responders and community leaders attended as Father DeCody offered a blessing during the ceremony.  WDSU

  • A new report from Louisiana Kids Matter (an education group) found that the state’s decades-old school funding system did not send enough aid to schools with high needs. State officials, including Superintendent Cade Brumley, called the proposed changes unworkable during a private meeting last month.  NOLA.com
