ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews poured water on Nottoway Plantation in White Castle after a fire began on May 15 that reduced the historic 1859 mansion to rubble—no injuries were reported and officials are investigating the cause. Fox 8
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Today, 11 inmates—including multiple accused murderers—escaped from Orleans jail, and police are working to locate them. Fox 8
- ➤ Eleven inmates escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center on May 16 and local officials began a coordinated search while four of the escapees, facing murder charges, are considered armed and dangerous — one escapee, Kendall Myles, was recaptured in the French Quarter. WRNO
- ➤ Eleven inmates broke out of the Orleans Parish Jail in Mid-City this morning when a routine headcount revealed the escape; although two have been recaptured, nine remain on the loose & are deemed armed and dangerous. WRNO
- ➤ On Friday morning, ten inmates escaped Orleans Parish Jail by breaking a cell door and crawling through a cut wall, then fleeing via a loading dock and Interstate 10—only one inmate was captured while nine remain at large. WDSU
