  • After a jailbreak at a New Orleans jail where ten inmates escaped through a hole behind a toilet & fence, law enforcement apprehended five while a jail maintenance worker was arrested and three staff members were suspended.  New Orleans City Business
  • Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson said faulty locks allowed 10 men to escape from the Orleans Justice Center, with officials having requested funds for repairs earlier — four fugitives including 21 year old Gary Price have been caught as authorities begin investigating the break.  Fox 8

  • French Quarter buskers worry that if the city makes Bourbon Street a pedestrian zone they will lose the Royal Street mall that has been their stage for decades—putting their way of making a living at risk.   • Louisiana regulators voted 4—1 to halt plans for power market reform that aimed to give customers more choice, a decision that now leaves Entergy customers facing potential base rate increases of up to 90% by 2030.
