  • Greater St. Stephen Ministries (5600 Read Blvd.) held its Day of Empowerment on June 14 at 1 p.m. in New Orleans, giving away free Shell gas cards and Winn-Dixie grocery gift cards while offering legacy planning resources. Special guests included Dr. Willie Wilson and Donavin Boyd (joined by Bishop T. Delbert Robinson) as officials like Mayor LaToya Cantrell and District E Councilmember Oliver Thomas attended.  WDSU

  • OHUB, a New Orleans tech incubator, will host a startup pitch event on June 25 at The Shop at the Contemporary Arts Center where five teams from its Climate Tech Accelerator will compete for a $100K prize.   • City Council Vice President Helena Moreno called for a redo of a rare election after some polling sites ran out of ballots, leaving voters unable to cast their votes. Her demand has raised concerns over election preparedness & efforts to prevent future ballot shortages.  WWL-TV
