- ➤ A Jefferson Parish jury convicted Sean Barrette, 28, a man from Metairie who in 2019 used a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol to shoot motorists and kill three, and he will be sentenced on Wednesday, June 18. WDSU

- ➤ Patty Glaser, the founding CEO of Discovery Schools, stepped down this year after growing the network from one Kenner charter school in 2013 to campuses in Jefferson Parish, Baton Rouge, and a hybrid virtual school.
