- ➤ Firefighters responded shortly before 1 a.m. to a house fire in the 3000 block of D’Aquin Street — the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed that an unresponsive adult male was found inside and later pronounced dead, with initial findings pointing to an accidental cause. WWL-TV

- ➤ Jefferson Parish grand jury indicted 18-year-old Cashmere Butler from Harvey on charges of second-degree murder for fatally shooting Samuel Tague during a robbery on the 5000 block of Fourth Street in Marrero on April 15 — he is now held at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center with bail set at $750,000. - ➤ Donnell Bluain, who is serving a life sentence in Georgia, was indicted on six counts of aggravated rape in 1986 cases in east Jefferson Parish where he allegedly broke into homes through windows—he will be arraigned on Aug. 18. NOLA.com
