- ➤ New Orleans police are asking for help finding two missing brothers—8-year-old Nolan Eastridge and 4-year-old Landon—who were last seen with their father, Tyler Eastridge, on the 1000 block of Burgundy St amid a custody dispute; their mother last heard from them on July 13th. WDSU
- ➤ Bryan Vasquez, a 12-year-old nonverbal boy with special needs, went missing in Village de L’Est and crews have used excavators and airboats to search in New Orleans East—authorities warn that canals may be drained if he is not found. WWL-TV
- ➤ New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell was indicted Friday on 11 felony counts including conspiracy & wire fraud, making her the first sitting mayor to face corruption charges among city officials with past legal troubles. WDSU

- ➤ Louisiana is becoming a hub for making battery parts as companies build plants to separate rare earth metals used in electric cars and tech. Ucore North America Rare Metals Inc. began building a plant near the Port of New Orleans at England Airpark+ the facility will start processing rare earths in June and add local jobs. - ➤ New Orleans has launched the Tune-Up Grant Program to offer up to $5,000 for sound quality upgrades—helping music venues reduce noise for local residents while providing training through Loyola sound consultations. - ➤ UMC celebrated its 10th anniversary this month with a parade, art display and a courtyard event that featured local rapper Choppa and past patients.
