ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters remain at Smitty’s Supply in Roseland, Tangipahoa Parish where an explosion occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m. Friday at a lubricant manufacturing facility with over 400 workers—authorities kept a one-mile evacuation zone and a three-mile temporary flight restriction while reporting no injuries.  Louisiana Radio Network
  • State police and parish officials provided an update at Saturday 10 am on their ongoing efforts to extinguish a massive fire at a Roseland chemical plant.  WWL-TV

  • Over Memorial Day weekend, a power outage left Lost Coyote and other New Orleans businesses in darkness, stopping food preparation and digital payments during record-high temperatures.   • New Orleans police are searching for 77-year-old Brenda Hayward, who was last seen on Aug 22 at 1 p.m. on the 3400 block of Baldwin Street in a white t-shirt and black jogging pants, and she is 5'2, 163 pounds, and has dementia (she uses a cane or walker) as she has not been heard from since and officers ask anyone with information to call First District detectives at 504-658-6010.  WDSU
