  • The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office identified 23-year-old Darnell Causey and 43-year-old Robert Rodriquez as the victims of separate shootings this week—Causey was fatally shot early Sunday in the French Quarter on Iberville Street and Rodriquez was killed the following morning in the 7th Ward.  NOLA.com

HEALTH NEWS

  • Louisiana health officials confirmed two new deaths from vibrio germs linked to oysters served at restaurants in Louisiana and Florida, bringing the death toll to six this year. Officials warned that warm waters help the bacteria grow fast and urged people with cuts or weak defenses to be extra cautious when eating raw oysters — cases have risen above normal levels.  New Orleans City Business

SPORTS NEWS

  • Governor Jeff Landry announced Wednesday morning that the LIV Golf League will come to New Orleans at Bayou Oaks in City Park from June 26—28, 2026 on a three-year contract with under $5 million in state funds for upgrades; LIV will also pay for renovations expected to boost the local economy by $50—75 million. The new tournament will add to the city’s role as a host for major sports events.  WDSU
