EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A new report shows Louisiana public colleges are enrolling more medical students while law, dentistry and pharmacy programs have mixed or declining numbers. LSU’s medical programs steadily expanded over the past decade and in 2024, medical enrollment surpassed law schools—Southern University Law Center lost 135 students and ULM’s pharmacy enrollment fell nearly 90 since 2021. - ➤ Four years after Hurricane Ida, Jefferson Parish school officials still wait for FEMA funds for dozens of repair projects on school buildings, saying a slow reimbursement process and insurance issues have caused long delays.
