  • New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is set to be arraigned today on federal charges of fraud and obstruction of justice—charges that allege she misused city time on personal activities costing taxpayers about $70,000 and that she will enter a not guilty plea as legal experts expect a routine proceeding.  WWL-TV

  • Candidates for New Orleans mayor met on Sept. 9th at the New Orleans Jazz Museum to pitch plans for preserving the city's cultural heritage — they proposed affordable housing for culture bearers, easier permits for local arts, and increased funding for music programs. Organized by the Ella Project, the forum united local musicians and community professionals urging direct support to protect New Orleans’ artistic legacy.  WBOK

  • Nine New Orleans mayoral candidates met Tuesday at Xavier University for a debate hosted by the Urban League of Louisiana and discussed plans to improve city services and support minority-owned businesses.
