- ➤ At a City Council meeting on Thursday, police removed activist Byron Cole after he commented on a Bourbon Street townhome renovation despite a ban from a pending court case following an earlier arrest outside Perdido Street. Council members planned to check the ban list with Homeland Security—raising questions about civic rights—while Cole maintained he was never banned. NOLA.com
