Giovanna 'Gio' Savorgnan was named VP of sales at New Orleans-based 3131 Media — Alejandra Guzman was promoted to COO of LSU Health Foundation, Andy Gutacker was appointed senior vice president and general manager of BASF’s Geismar site, Martin Holifield joined JD Bank as a mortgage loan originator, and LSU Law named professors Corbett and Wright as endowed professors.  NOLA.com

  • Photographer Virginia Hanusik is showing nine photographs—taken during coastal trips—that capture Louisiana's disappearing coast at The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, where the exhibition titled The Unending Stream: Chapter II runs through March 15.   • At R Bar in Marigny, local barber Laura Mattingly gave $20 haircuts combined with a shot on Monday, Sept. 29 as regulars lined up for a unique neighborhood experience.   • New Orleans voters will decide on a charter amendment that may change employment rules for people with criminal records—officials will review the measure's details if it passes.  WWL-TV
  • Tolls on the Belle Chasse Bridge remain suspended after residents reported bills reaching thousands—officials said they may set up a new billing system to prevent more high charges.  WWL-TV
  • New Orleans voters will head to the polls Saturday in the mayoral primary—where candidate Helena Moreno leads with nearly 50% support and can avoid a runoff—along with Royce Duplessis and Oliver Thomas. Moreno, the City Council's vice president, bolsters her campaign with strong political backing as her opponents ramp up aggressive advertising and public events.  NOLA.com
