  • Dozens of cyclists will ride a 10-mile loop through New Orleans neighborhoods on Sunday starting at The Broadside at 11:00 a.m.—registration opens at 10 a.m. Participants must sign a waiver with an optional $10 donation and can rent bikes or use free Blue Bikes for the first three hours—an after-party and silent auction will follow the ride.  WWL-TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • New Orleans newlyweds Victoria and Durand Louis lost four horses in a barn fire at Lewis Stables in Slidell on November 1—hours after marrying on Halloween—with firefighters still investigating the cause.  Fox 8

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hospice House near Slidell welcomed its 500th patient last month and marked 11 years of offering dignified end-of-life care. After a five-month closure due to health department challenges, the nonprofit is serving patients again and plans to break ground for a second location on Lee Road in Covington in early 2026 — a move sustained by community fundraising.  NOLA.com
  • After weeks of negotiation and warnings that patients might lose coverage for specialized services, LCMC Health and UnitedHealthcare reached a verbal agreement to keep services in-network.
