- ➤ South Louisiana companies announced several promotions and new hires—Phelps named Sarah Alt its first chief information officer and Ruby Slipper named Bryan Bass as its new CMO. Entergy appointed retired Navy Admiral Frank Caldwell to its board, HANO promoted former judge Keva Landrum, and the American Red Cross along with Community Coffee, Plaquemine Bank & Trust, LSU Energy Institute and Stuller Inc. revealed leadership changes. - ➤ Coleman E. Adler II of Adler’s Jewelry announced his retirement after a 62-year career and said he is ready for time off. Starting Nov. 10, the Canal Street and Metairie stores (722 Canal St. and 2937 Veterans Blvd.) will host a storewide sale with discounts until all inventory sells. WWL-TV

- ➤ New Orleans native Angelica Harris started Top Tutors for Us to help Black students improve their ACT scores and earn college scholarships. She raised her own score from 16 to 32 and now partners with local schools and United Way of Southeast Louisiana to offer tutoring to about 1,000 students. NOLA.com
- ➤ LSU Board of Supervisors chose Wade Rousse as the new president in a meeting held November 4 after Rousse secured key backing from Gov. Jeff Landry amid past concerns over his qualifications. He will serve as system president—overseeing athletics and overall university operations—while James Dalton focuses on academics at the flagship campus. NOLA.com

- ➤ The Tangipahoa River reopened to boat traffic and recreation on Nov. 7th after an explosion at Smitty’s Supply leaked contaminants into the water. - ➤ At the Nov. 7 Region 3 LHSAA meet at City Park, Mandeville's Brayden Berglund ran 15:50.96 to win the boys' title and Northshore's Grace Keene finished in 18:33.24 to claim the girls' crown—both performances helped their teams secure spots for the state meet on Nov. 17. NOLA.com
- ➤ The Corporate Classic 5K is set to begin in City Park on Saturday, November 15—organizers expect local runners and corporate teams to join as event plans are finalized. Fox 8
- ➤ On Saturday night, the San Antonio Spurs beat the New Orleans Pelicans 126—119 as De’Aaron Fox scored 24 points in his season debut and Victor Wembanyama recorded 18 points with 18 rebounds.
