COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Audubon is changing plans for its Riverfront for All park at the former Gov. Nicholls Street Wharf—after spending $30 million on phase one that will finish early 2026. CEO Michael Sawaya said phase two at the larger Esplanade Avenue Wharf will have a new plan—possibly adding food vendors and naming rights sales to help fund the park.  NOLA.com
  • More than 40 local vendors gathered on Oak Street for the annual Po-boy Festival where they served specialty sandwiches amid tough economic times, and Gene Colley from Southerns made his famous nine-day pho-strami po-boy by smoking brisket for 14 hours—supporting local eateries in hard times—while festival-goers enjoyed a variety of po-boys.  Fox 8

CULTURE NEWS

  • WWL's Lily Cummings reported on the 2025 Kenner Food Truck Festival in Kenner—where food trucks and live music offered a variety of local flavors—and said the event shows the area's growing reputation for culinary and music experiences.  WWL-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Carver High School’s Field of Dreams stadium cleared its final hurdles with a bond vote and a naming rights deal that brought total funding to $15m; construction will begin early next year—this new venue will seat 4,000 and host sports and community events with completion expected in spring. The project marks a long-awaited homecoming for local students and neighborhood residents.  NOLA.com

  • The Golden State Warriors beat New Orleans 124-106 Sunday night as James Borrego debuted as the Pelicans’ interim coach following Willie Green’s firing — Moses Moody scored 32 points with eight 3-pointers to boost the win.  WWL-TV
  • LSU defeated Arkansas 23-22 at Tiger Stadium on November 15—interim coach Frank Wilson earned his first win with the close game.  Fox 8
  • Tulane defeated Florida Atlantic Owls 35-24 to reach the AP top 25 at 24 with an 8-2 record, & the team will travel to Philadelphia on November 22 at 2:45 p.m. to face Temple University.  WDSU
