St. Augustine's 52-14 win snapped the Cougars' streak.

If you follow Catholic League football, Saturday night was one to remember. St. Augustine beat two-time defending Division I Select champ Edna Karr 52-14 at in front of more than 18,000 fans. The Purple Knights are 9-0, and FOX 8 has them No. 1 in the Division I Select power rankings, with Karr (8-1) at No. 2.

Showers are possible on Election Day, and strong storms could follow Tuesday night

Voting Tuesday? We suggest keeping rain gear handy. WDSU says rain chances sit at 30% on Tuesday and 40% on Wednesday, with isolated downpours possible from around 4 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday afternoon. FOX 8 says strong to severe storms are possible Tuesday night into early Wednesday as a cold front moves through, and forecast models still differ on how the system will develop.

  • Weekend totals: 6 to 8 inches in Metairie, Kenner and Bucktown

The Wrap

New Orleans knows how to send things off with a second line, and that includes beloved pets. On Sunday, Nov. 1, animal lovers rolled through the French Quarter in the second annual Pet Memorial Parade, raising money for local animal shelters and rescues. Alyse Guidroz posed for a photo afterward in a cape made from photos of her dog. Good dogs, good send-off.
